For about the next 1/2 hour we're going to be using the World Wide Web to learn a little more about how the mouse works and will be using the mouse to have a little fun. By the time we're done you should be much more confident using the mouse and will be much
better able to use the computer.|
The first thing we're going to do is move the mouse around a bit on the mouse pad. Try it! You'll notice as you move the mouse around that an arrow will move on the screen as well. This is your pointer. You might also see what's known as an I-Beam . This appears when the pointer is over text/words. Essentially, you use the mouse to point the pointer at what you want to work with.
You'll notice on the mouse that there is a button on the right side and one on the left. I'm going to make this easy. For now forget all about the right side mouse button. It only does fancy stuff that we're not ready for ... yet.
Now we're going to move on to the next page. To do that you have to "click" on the "link" below.
All that really means is that you have to move the mouse until a hand appears over where it says "Next Page" in blue below. Hold the mouse steady, and then gently push and release the left side mouse button one time. (If it doesn't work the first time, keep trying till it does.)
